Hilton Hotel in Istanbul
I made reservations for two rooms at the Hilton Hotel in Istanbul. When we arrived (on Saturday at 20:00, after five hours of travelling by car) I was informed by the front desk that my room was not ready yet because the hotel was overbooked, and that I had to wait for several minutes. After an hour of waiting in the lobby, I was given the card of the room, but when I tried to use it, I was unpleasantly surprised because the door opened by a man socked wet, in his bathrobe! He told me that he’s been staying there for a week and that this was a shock for him as well!! I was very embarassed, I apologized, went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. The girl who had blundered, asked me to calm down and made excuses in incomprehensible English, but in an indifferent manner that made me realise that she was just trying to get rid of me. I insisted in talking to somebody more responsible and she finally called the manager of the front desk. I told him that check in time is at two o’clock so I should have a room free in my disposal hours ago (it was way past 21:00p.m.). He apologized, promised that he would make arrangements for another room and that he would send us something to make it up to us. Nothing was ever sent to our room, and what’s more, we checked out Monday noon and our sheets were not changed once! I will never stay in a Hilton Hotel again and I will inform all of my friends about my bad experience. Thank you for your patience.
