Subject: Housekeeping nightmare-Sleep Inn, Lewes, DE


The following is the text portion of a complaint that I recently registered with the folks at Sleep Inn central, after an awful stay at the Sleep Inn, on the Coastal Highway in Lewes, DE.


    After 6 hrs. on the road, we checked into our room.  The clerk was kind enough to put her smoke down & leave her boyfriend at the front door and check us in.  We had to change rooms after finding/smelling left     over squid in the frig.  The previous guest also left 2 drawers full of clothing in the dresser.  Housekeeping also didn’t enter our new room on Saturday.  We had to go to the desk to get our trash emptied and fresh     towels.  After 2 nights in our new room, I told the kids to look under the bed to make sure we picked up everything.  They found somebody else’s sock under one of the beds.  The little card left by housekeeping in     both rooms had “Emma’s” name on it (which spooked everybody).  Even after specifically asking to speak to the manger, she left no message on Friday, & didn’t come in on Saturday or Sunday.


    This is one of the more memorable, and the grossest hotel stays that either my family or I have ever had.  We did get 10% off of Friday’s bill though.  Nice job, guys! 


This is one of the worst experiences that we have ever had in a hotel.  To walk into a room and smell rotting fish at 10PM is beyond description.  We first thought that they had assigned us to someone else’s room.  I wish that was the case.  Poor housekeeping is an understatement.  We’ll see if we get any response from corporate.
